The Valley Hospital Foundation Board of Trustees

Edward Rubin is Managing Director, Senior Relationship Management of TD Securities. Ed joined TD in 2015 and was Global Head of Fixed Income Sales through 2021. Previously, he was Managing Director, Head of Cross Rates and Securitized Product Sales within the Global Markets Division of Deutsche Bank Securities, Inc. Ed joined Deutsche Bank in 1996 from Merrill Lynch where he was responsible for Mortgage Back Securities (MBS) trading. From 1987 to 1995, Ed was a Senior Vice President at Kidder Peabody and was responsible for MBS and CMO trading. Ed earned his BA from the University of Pennsylvania and MBA from the Wharton School of Business.

Nancy Bush has been an active member of The Valley Hospital Auxiliary since 1995. She is the current co-chair of the Auxiliary’s Saddle River Valley Branch, and was the former President of the Auxiliary. During her tenure the Auxiliary completed a $2 million pledge in two years.

Nancy is a successful fundraiser and an active community volunteer. In addition to her work for Valley, she has served on the boards of the Wandell School Foundation and Youth of Saddle River.

Andrew (Andy) Gatto is the principal of Andrew Gatto Consulting and the retired president and CEO of Russ Berrie and Company, Inc. (now known as Kid Brands, Inc.). Prior to joining Russ Berrie in 2004, he was the senior vice president, Product Development, Imports and Strategic Sourcing for Toys 'R' Us. Prior positions include serving as president and CEO of V-Tech Industries' Play-Tech Division, SLM Industries, and Matchbox Toys North America. He also held senior management positions with Toy Biz, LJN Toys, Durham Industries, and Fisher Price Toys.

Andy has served on a number of academic, philanthropic and commercial boards including The School of Business and Economics of the Catholic University of America, The President's Council of Rider University and its Westminster Choir College, the Foundation Board of the ARC of Bergen and Passaic Counties and Imagine Tomorrow International.

Peter C. Marron has been an officer and member of various philanthropic, business and club organizations throughout his career. What he is most proud of is his association with The Valley Hospital, what he considers the best regional health care system in northern New Jersey. He currently serves as a trustee and Vice-Chair of The Valley Hospital Foundation. Peter's institutional career included being Assets Manager for Chase Manhattan Bank’s realty trust and Divisional Vice President of Real Estate for Republic National Bank. On a private level, he founded the non-profit Marron Foundation, started a boutique real estate brokerage and established several inter-related real estate development companies. He served as Chairman of Professional Standards and elected “Realtor of the Year” by the New Jersey Association of Realtors for his contributions to his community and the real estate industry.  Peter is a graduate of Boston University with a degree in finance.  

Edward B. "Win" Self, Jr., M.D. is a retired orthopedic surgeon who started his orthopedic surgery practice at Valley in 1977 and has served in many roles at Valley over more than 45 years.

Dr. Self graduated from Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1970. The former Chairman and current emeritus staff member in the Orthopedics Department at The Valley Hospital, Dr. Self also served as a Trustee of Valley Health System before joining The Valley Hospital Foundation Board of Trustees in 2024.

Jeff Seidler is a Managing Director with Emerald Creek Capital and has been with the firm since 2009.

In addition to serving on The Valley Hospital Foundation, Mr. Seidler serves on committees for The Covenant House New York and Care Plus NJ.

Mr. Seidler received degrees from James Madison University’s College of Business and New York University’s Schack Institute of Real Estate.

Mr. Seidler resides in Bergen County with his wife and three children.

David Bohan joined the Foundation in March of 2017.  He came to Valley from Seton Hall University, where he served as Vice President for University Advancement, leading the university’s alumni, development and public/government relations efforts.  Prior to that time, he was Associate Vice President for University Advancement and Campaign Executive Director at Carnegie Mellon University where he acted as university advancement's chief operating officer and director of the university’s $1 billion comprehensive campaign.  Dave has an additional 15 years prior experience at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) as Assistant Vice President for Advancement Strategy, Services and Infrastructure.

Dave was born at Valley and raised in Ridgewood, where he graduated from Ridgewood High School.  He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and MBA from RPI.

Robert Brenner, MD, MMM, FACHE, President & CEO of Valley Health System, joined Valley in 2015 as Valley Health System’s first Senior Vice President and Chief Physician Executive. In 2019, he was appointed President of Clinical Integration and Physician Enterprise; in January 2024, he was appointed President of Valley Health System. Prior to joining Valley, Dr. Brenner served as the Chief Medical Officer of Summit Medical Group and as a Senior Executive at Mountainside Hospital/Atlantic Health System.

During his tenure at Valley, Dr. Brenner has led the development and growth of Valley’s Population Health program, which oversees the coordination of care for more than 90,000 individuals; the launch of ColigoCare, Valley’s nationally acclaimed Clinically Integrated Network encompassing a Medicare Accountability Organization that was recently recognized as the No. 1 accountable care organization in New Jersey for quality outcomes; and, in affiliation with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, the initiation of Valley’s first two Graduate Medical Education programs in Internal Medicine and Obstetrics and Gynecology in July 2024.

Dr. Brenner has also played a significant role in the growth of Valley’s award-winning Valley Medical Group, Valley Home Care, and the planning of Valley’s new hospital in Paramus, which opened in April 2024.

Dr. Brenner received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed the Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons/Overlook Hospital Family Medicine Internship and Residency Program. Dr. Brenner holds a master’s degree in medical management from the Carnegie Mellon University-Heinz School of Public Policy and Management and completed the New York University Stern Strategic Leadership Program. He served as a physician in the United States Air Force and earned a U.S. Air Force Commendation and Meritorious Service Medal.

Dr. Brenner has served on the Board of the New Jersey Hospital Association since 2020 and was recently appointed Board Secretary and Chair of the Association’s Audit and Compliance Committee. He also serves on the CEO Board of Managers and the Strategy Committee of New Jersey’s Healthcare Transformation Consortium, which seeks opportunities to enhance quality and efficiency of care throughout the state. He was a member of the American Medical Group Association Foundation Board and served as Chair from 2019 to 2020.

Dr. Brenner is a national speaker and is known for his presentations on producing value in healthcare, managing effective healthcare systems and multispecialty group practices, and the meaningful use of health information technologies.

Ephraim (Fry) Casper, M.D. is the Chief Medical Officer of Valley – Mount Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Care and Professor of Medicine, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Casper plays a leading role in the growth and development of our Cancer Services and the integration of these services with Mount Sinai.

Dr. Casper is a practicing medical oncologist who specializes in the treatment of cancers of the gastrointestinal tract and soft tissue sarcoma. He brings with him over thirty years of experience at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Prior to joining Valley in 2016, Fry served as the Medical Director of the MSK Regional Care Network where he was responsible for the care at their regional sites in New York and New Jersey.  

Sunny Choi, M.D. is a board-certified anesthesiologist and member of Bergen Anesthesia Group.

She received her Bachelor of Engineering Science degree from Johns Hopkins University and her medical degree from the University of Virginia. She completed her residency in anesthesiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where she also completed a fellowship in cardiac anesthesiology and an internship in internal medicine.

Dr. Choi joined The Valley Hospital Foundation Board of Trustees in 2024.

Theodore (Ted) Harris is the chairman of the board, chief executive officer, and president of Balchem Corporation, located in New Hampton, NY, a provider of specialty ingredients primarily for health and nutrition markets.  Ted joined Balchem in 2015 as chief executive officer and president, and was named chairman of the board in 2017.  Immediately prior to Balchem, Ted held a series of senior leadership roles over an 11-year period at Ashland Inc., a global leader in specialty chemicals.  In 2015 Ted was named senior vice president and president Ashland Performance Materials, a global provider of advanced composites resins, adhesives, elastomers, and intermediates and solvents.  Immediately prior to joining Ashland, Ted held various leadership roles within FMC Corporation over a 12-year period, with the most recent role being General Manager of the food ingredients business. Ted is also an independent director and member of the Board of Directors of Pentair PLC.  A native of Philadelphia, PA, Ted earned a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Lehigh University. He also holds an MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration. 

Lynn Holuba is a former Curriculum Provider and Consultant for the New Jersey Department of Education. She has had a long career as a foreign language teacher for all levels of K - 12. Lynn has also served as a college foreign language professor at Montclair University and Temple University. She is an active member of St. Gabrielle’s Church in Saddle River, a current board member of The Greater Boys and Girls Club of Paterson and Passaic, the co-chair of the Foundation’s President’s Council, and a Trustee Emerita of Gettysburg College.

Joining the Foundation Board in 2023, Karen Keyes has also been a member of the Valley Hospital Foundation's Women For Health since 2011. She also serves on the University of Notre Dame's Advisory Council for the Student-Athlete. Karen earned bachelors and master’s degrees from Notre Dame in American studies and business, respectively. While at Notre Dame, she played on the women's basketball team where she was the Midwestern Collegiate Conference player of the year as a junior and senior and finished as the program's career scoring leader.

Karen is currently the color analyst member of the radio broadcast crew for Notre Dame Women’s Basketball. She was previously the assistant women’s Basketball coach for Ridgewood high school beginning in 2009, and then head coach in 2015.

Audrey Meyers, FACHE, System CEO Emeritus, served as Chief Executive Officer of Valley Health System, a nationally recognized regional healthcare system serving northern New Jersey and southern New York. During her more than 40-year career with Valley, she has held key executive leadership positions in strategic planning, management, operations, and governance.

As CEO, Meyers was responsible for the strategic and day-to-day operations of one of New Jersey’s busiest hospitals, ranked among the top three hospitals in the state by U.S. News and World Report, included as one of the World’s Best Hospitals by Newsweek, and in the top 2% of hospitals nationwide as one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals by Healthgrades. She also oversaw a busy home care agency, and an award-winning medical group of close to 500 physicians and advanced practice providers across 50 specialties and multiple locations.

In addition, Meyers led the organization through a successful debt offering to support the construction of an $868 million state-of-the-art replacement hospital on a new 40-acre site in Paramus, New Jersey. As part of the ribbon cutting event for the new hospital, Meyers introduced her recently published book, A Privilege to Serve, which tells the story of Valley and the journey to being one of the region’s premier health systems. The hospital was successfully relocated from Ridgewood to Paramus on Sunday, April 14, 2024, providing a first-class health and wellness destination for the entire region.

Under Meyers' leadership, Valley thrived as one of the few successful standalone hospital systems in the country through the development of key strategic relationships with leading national healthcare systems; fostering a culture of service, performance, and high reliability; and driving a rigorous systemwide approach to margin enhancement through growth and cost control. Since first becoming President in 1999, revenue has grown from $250 million to over $1 billion.

Meyers is included as one of the top leaders in both the NJBIZ Power 100 list as well as its list of the Health Care Power 50. In 2024, she was recognized by ROI-NJ as one of the top three female leaders and one of the most influential individuals in the business world on the Super 60 Power List. She was also recognized with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the New Jersey Hospital Association in recognition of her 44 years of service to Valley.

Surya N. Mohapatra, Ph.D., has held senior leadership positions in the health care industry for more than 35 years, most recently as the Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Quest Diagnostics Incorporated.

He is a Trustee of Rockefeller University and an Executive in Residence at the Columbia Business School.

Greg is Partner and President at HS Management Partners, LLC, in New York City. Prior to his current role, Greg spent 23 years of his career at three investment banks, where he specialized in equity research of the homebuilding/building products industries.

Greg has a B.A. from Franklin & Marshall College.

Yolla Rahal is a local philanthropist who has served as a substitute French teacher for Mahwah Public Schools. She is also a full-time homemaker and has raised two children. Yolla has served on various Foundation committees and currently is the Chair of the Allocations Committee.

Dr. Thomas J. Rakowski retired from Valley-Mount Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Care in 2020. As an integral part of Valley for 39 years, his accomplishments include serving as President (1993-1995), Vice President (1991-1993), and Secretary (1989-1991) of The Valley Hospital’s Medical Staff, Chief of Hematology/Medical Oncology, and past member of Valley Medical Group’s Board of Trustees. Tom was chairman of multiple committees including, but not limited to, Cancer Committee and Quality Committee for Valley Medical Group. Tom also served as a clinical assistant professor of medicine at The Icahn School of Medicine, Mount Sinai. During his career, he was often listed in various Top Doctors lists, such as Inside Jersey Top Doctors for Cancer, Top Doctors: New York Metro Area, Inside Jersey – Top Doctors for Women’s Health, and New York Magazine: Top Doctors. 

Tom received his medical degree from State University of New York Upstate Medical University, his Hematology/Oncology training at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, and his undergraduate degree from Cornell University.

Sarah is Senior Vice President with the Hudson Ridge Group of Morgan Stanley. Sarah possesses broad knowledge in investments, accounting, tax, insurance, estate planning and charitable giving, and is a frequent speaker to corporations and nonprofits on topics such as Asset Allocation, Women & Investing, Financial Planning and other investment related subjects.

Sarah recently served as the President of the Junior League of Bergen County, where she has been a member since 2000, and is a co-founder of the Bergen County Professional Women's Network.

Sarah is a native Bostonian and a graduate of Wellesley College with a BA in Economics and American Studies.

Donna Singer is the President of the Valley Hospital Auxiliary and previously served as co-Treasurer and Administrative Vice President of the Auxiliary.

Donna was employed by Ramapo College of New Jersey for 46 years, where she served as Director of Administrative Computing and Director of Emergency Planning and Business Continuity. She currently serves on the Executive Board of the Ramapo College Retirees, and previously served as President of the Ramapo College Professional Staff Association and on the Fair Lawn Board of Education. In 2018, Donna was the driving force behind the establishment of a retired women’s group, Connections, and served as the group’s President.

Donna holds a BS in Math with honors from Ramapo College and an MS in Management/Information Technology from NJIT.

Chirag is Executive Vice President of Gallagher Re's US Casualty Segment. Prior to taking on his role as the US Segment leader, Chirag led Gallagher Re's London and International Casualty Segment and was based in London for eight years.

Chirag holds a B.S. degree, with a major in Finance, from Bentley University in Waltham, MA. Chirag is a member of Bentley’s Alumni Relations Committee.

Ann Marie joined the Foundation Board in 2022. She is President of Copper Beach Foundation, and is a board member at The Village School in Waldwick. She previously served on Ridgewood's 4th of July Committee.

Robert (Bob) Van Dyk is president and CEO of Van Dyk Healthcare, a family-owned company that has provided a continuum of senior care services in Bergen, Passaic, and Essex counties since 1953, beginning with Bob’s father, grandfather, and uncle.  Bob continued the family tradition by becoming President and CEO in 1994.  Bob is the former chairman of both the National Center for Assisted Living and the American Health Care Association.  He currently serves on the President's Advisory Council at Houghton College.  Bob completed his term on the Board of Trustees at Immaculate Heart Academy, as well as Montclair State University, which was an appointment by NJ Governor Chris Christie. 

Bob received his bachelor’s degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University, his master’s degree from George Washington University, and Doctor of Letters from Houghton College

Chris Wragge co-anchors CBS 2 News This Morning and CBS 2 News at Noon with Mary Calvi.

He rejoined the station in September 2011 after serving as co-anchor of CBS News’ “The Early Show.” Previously, Wragge served as co-anchor of the station’s weeknight 5 and 11 p.m. newscasts, co-anchor of the Saturday edition of “The Early Show” and as a frequent substitute co-anchor of the weekday edition of “The Early Show.”

Chris first joined WCBS-TV in 2004 as the station’s 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 11 p.m. sports anchor.

Prior to joining CBS, Wragge worked for NBC Sports. His assignments included covering the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City, four years as sideline reporter for NBA game broadcasts and two years covering the WNBA. He also covered the PGA Tour for five years, Notre Dame Football, and the PBR. Additionally, he anchored NBC’s Sportsdesk reports from 2002-04.
